The Vermont-based ARIS Solutions Co-Founder & Co-Executive Director’s Career Spanned Five Decades.
White River Junction, VT, July 25, 2023 — ARIS Solutions (arissolutions.org), a Vermont-based 501 (c)-3 nonprofit organization that provides financial, payroll, administrative and tax-related services to assist individuals, families, and non-profits, today announced the retirement of one of its founders, Dr. Bill Ashe. Ashe had served as Co-Executive Director of ARIS since 1996, when he co-founded the increasingly essential social services agency with fellow social services executive Sherry Thrall. Dr. Ashe had formerly retired as the Executive Director of another Vermont-based social services agency, Upper Valley Services, serving Vermont’s Orange County. Thrall, who also serves as Executive Director of Lincoln Street Inc., in Springfield, Vermont, will continue as the Co-Executive Director of ARIS Solutions, working with the agency’s Chief Operating Officer and Co-Executive Director, Elizabeth Lundberg.
Ashe’s retirement marks the culmination of a long and distinguished career serving individuals who experience disability. At ARIS Solutions, the focus has been on meeting the financial services and tax-related needs of individuals, families, and non-profit organizations.
At a recent retirement party honoring his career, Ashe remarked: “Originally, ARIS Solutions was an idea that Sherry Thrall and I had, and as it happened, it proved that every once in a while, you get something right. I can’t describe how thrilling it’s been for me to see the growth of a group of people from very disparate backgrounds and interests to come together and recognize how crucial this organization’s work is to thousands of people. And this ARIS team does that work magnificently.”

Whatever the particular strategy or service or need was at hand, Bill has always been at the center of facilitating vulnerable people to have a voice and a choice, and control over their lives.”
