The mission of Home Care Independence-Consumer Directed Services (HCI-CDS) is to empower clients to be informed Consumers with maximum choice and control over the purchase of goods and services that meet their unique self-defined needs, in order to remain in their own homes.

Goals of Home Care Independence-Consumer Directed Services (HCI-CDS)

• Give the Consumer maximum choice and control over the services they receive
• Provide access to a larger pool of providers of goods and services available to the Consumer
• Utilize funds with greater flexibility to meet the individual Consumer’s needs
• Increase the independence of the Consumer by supporting his/her efforts to control who, what, when, and how services are provided
• Keep the Consumer at home in the community and out of institutional care as long as possible
